An event will be run at the Local History Service located at Battersea Library on Saturday 9 September 2017 exploring the history of the River Wandle. There will be copies of archival materials held in the collection and these will be used to make cut and paste collaged publications inspired by the participants’ memories. It will be an opportunity to share experiences of the River and think creatively about how participants can tell their own stories.
Mireille Fauchon, who will be leading the event says,
‘It would be fantastic to have a range of stories from people with different stories about the River; for example from childhood, work or leisurely activities just enjoying the landscape.”
The workshop is FREE for adults only (16+)All materials will be provided – just bring yourself and your memories!
Places are limited so please do book by emailing Heritage@gll.org or call 0207 223 2334 (press 2 at the menu)

We are taking bookings for a Lichen Walkshop on 12 September, in Wandle Park, which will involve discussions on pollution, a walk to observe lichens and using a particulate matter monitor. This will be run by London Sustainability Exchange who spoke on air pollution at one of our meetings this year.
