Dementia-friendly screenings at The David Lean to June 2020

The special Dementia-friendly screenings at the David Lean Cinema continue each month, in association with Croydon Dementia Action Alliance.

These Dementia Friendly screenings aim to make cinema more accessible by providing a fun and inclusive experience to enable people living with dementia, their families and carers to attend the cinema in a safe and welcoming environment. The lights are left on low, there are no adverts or trailers and the audience is allowed to move around or even sing along to any musical numbers if they’d like to.

Admission is £1 on the door for people with dementia (their carers get free entry). Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available before the screening.

The dates and titles can be found on Eventbrite

Bookings for these special screenings is via Eventbrite.

Shirley North SNT update – Appeal following indecent exposures in Shirley, Croydon

PC Rebecca Littlewood writes to alert people to the following appeal:

Officers investigating a series of indecent exposures on Shirley Oaks Road, Shirley, have arrested a man.

At this point officers have received four allegations of offences committed during January and February this year.

On Wednesday, 5 February, officers arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of indecent exposure. He was taken to a south London police station and was subsequently released on bail to a date in late February pending further enquiries.

The suspect is described as; white, in his 30s, approximately 5ft 10, of a medium build, with short, receding dark brown hair. He wears a black leather, biker style jacket, over a grey top, black trousers and dark footwear.

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who believes that they may have been a victim of indecent exposure in the Shirley area and encourage victims to speak with officers, at the very least, to ensure they receive support.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, Tweet @MetCC quoting 3803877/20 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
