Carers Week in Croydon – 11-17 June 2018: get involved! #CarerConversations

 

Carers Week 11-17 June 2018 is the national celebration of unpaid carers’ contribution to our communities, supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our society. Over 33,000 people have a caring role for a friend, relative or neighbour in the Croydon borough alone.

Events in Croydon
The Carers Support Centre’s jam-packed events programme includes Tai Chi tasters, massage, two information marketplaces, a health and wellbeing workshop, a pub quiz, international celebrations and much more.

All events are free to Croydon carers, though some require advance booking.

This year’s theme
This year’s national Carers Week theme is Healthy and Connected, and the Carers Information Service is raising awareness of loneliness in carers and its impact on health and wellbeing.

Carers Week 12 – 18 June 2017

Are you looking after a friend, family member or neighbour who needs your support?

Carers Week 12-18 June 2017 is a national campaign to raise awareness of unpaid carers looking after someone due to illness, disability or old age.

There’s lots on offer for carers at the Carers Support Centre this Carers Week.

Highlights include:

  • Relaxing massage, dance, henna hand painting and therapeutic art sessions
  • Vintage afternoon tea at the Carers Café
  • ‘Meet a professional’ drop-ins
  • Find out about local carer support and health services
  • Opportunity to have your say on Croydon’s Carers Strategy
  • Annual Carers’ Information Day
  • And much, much more!

Carers’ Information Day: Wednesday 14 June, 10am – 2pm

Pick up useful information, meet local carers and professionals and find out what support is available at our annual information event for carers in Croydon. Lunch and refreshments will be provided, thanks to generous support from the Big Lottery Fund. Drop in anytime between 10am – 2pm – we look forward to seeing you there!
