Only the agenda for the public meeting following the AGM was made available online, and only the day before the meeting.

post 18 July 12Those who attended will recall that everyone was left waiting at 7pm when the committee did not appear.

There was a great deal of anger expressed when the committee entered at 7.30pm and explained that:

  • the AGM had been moved without notice to another room in the Town Hall,
  • everyone, other than the committee, was barred from entry to the AGM,
  • and the elections had already taken place before anyone was alerted of this.

In response to objections raised to this at the start of the public meeting the Treasurer, Syd Cheeswright, asserted that the need to hold the meeting in camera was stipulated in the Constitution and as a condition of the funding agreement from the Council.
