Domestic abuse can affect people of all ages, backgrounds and religions.The Croydon BME Forum

The Croydon BME Forum is working with Bromley & Croydon Women’s Aid.  They want to reduce incidents of Domestic Abuse in Croydon for women. They also want more women from the black, Asian and minority ethnic communities to come forward and seek support for domestic abuse.  They would like to hear your views and recommendations on how they can better the services for BAME women.

The meeting will be held at Croydon BME Forum,  56A Mitcham Road, Croydon, CR0 3RG

Black History Month in #Croydon ‘Celebrating Communities….’ Do you have an event to contribute?

Black History Month is fast approaching and if you would like your event/s to be promoted by Croydon Council  via a specific website which will go live nearer the time and in the Croydon BME Forum’s literature, you will need to email the details by Friday 14th July, 2017 to: communityrelations@croydon.gov.uk

There have been some really good submissions so far but the organisers are keen to capture and promote all events so please do keep them coming in so that they can publicise all events.

Please describe your event briefly- i.e. a very short paragraph or a few sentences with the key details

What date in October or early November will your event be taking place?

Where in Croydon will your event be taking place?

Who is the desired audience, e.g. is it for children, families or over 60s

Can people turn up on the day or do they need to pre-book? If pre-booking is needed how can this be done?

Is there a cost or will the event be free?

If you have any photographs from previous events or that are associated with your event that you have permission to share, please send them over as the organisers may be able to feature some in the programme.

The theme of this year’s Black History Month is “Celebrating Communities – a Tribute to Black Institutions”.

Superwoman 2016 – Black History Month event in Croydon on 28 October

October is Black History Month.

As part of the month’s event’s Stella Fasusi is holding a special event to celebrate the strength and impact of black women in society and she would love you to join her.

SUPERWOMAN 2016 takes place on Friday 28 October, 6pm at the Croydon Conference Centre, 5-9 Surrey Street, CR0 1RG.

“This is the second annual event in Croydon where we celebrate history and highlight the magic that women contribute to this society. We will engage in vibrant discussion with our panel and other amazing women, redefining what it means to be a woman of strength in 2016.”
