#Croydon – Comment on the new draft London Plan by 2 March 2018

The new draft London Plan has been published and is available here.

How to comment

You can register online to comment.

Emails can be sent to: Ensure the Subject line says “Draft New London Plan”.

Or letters can be sent to:
Sadiq Khan (Mayor of London)
New London Plan
GLA City Hall
London Plan Team
Post Point 18

Comments must be received by 5pm on Friday 2 March 2018.

Some of the points raised at a recent meeting that you may wish to consider:

  • The removal of protection for back gardens (contrary to national policy)
  • The removal of the density matrix (which sets limits on housing density)
  • The removal of targets for family homes
  • Protection of green belt
  • The reduction in parking standards – new developments near transport hubs should have zero parking provision without exception
  • Increase in 10-year housing targets (Croydon’s target was 14,348. The target proposed is 29,490).

If you have comments to make on the list above or any other comments on issues or areas that think should be supported contained within the new draft London Plan,  please add a comment to the post or email to share it with other residents.

Help sow the seeds of #ourgreenmile – a community-led project creating a green corridor between West Croydon & Thornton Heath

You too can be a proud supporter and/or an active participant in Our Green Mile, a community-led project to create a green corridor along the London Road, linking West Croydon Station with Thornton Heath Pond.

The project is a joint initiative between Broad Green Residents’ Association (BGRA), West Croydon Energy Garden (WCEG)  and Thornton Heath Community Action Team (THCAT).

Anyone can get involved but the team is particularly interested in engaging local people to drive the project forward. Could you help by taking responsibility for watering a planter, for example, or helping to spread the word by displaying a leaflet?

Want to know more or to get involved?

Then, book a place for the launch event on March 4 on Eventbrite.

Get in touch by emailing if you’d like more information, have a suggestion or have something to donate to the project.
