An important alert sent out by PCSO 7287 Tina Nash, Heathfield Safer Neighbourhoods Team this morning:
.THIS IS A SCAM
DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION
Over the past 2 days, elderly residents in Fieldway and New Addington have been receiving phone calls from who they believe to be HMRC stating that they are in Tax arrears and there is a warrant for their arrest. Some have been told Police will be attending their home address to arrest them.
This is a scam. Please do not be taken in by this. The people that are doing this are trying to gain access to YOUR money.
Be wary of anyone you don’t know asking questions about your bank account.
Your Bank or Police would never ask for your pin, your account number or your bank card to withdraw money.
NEVERshare your PIN with anyone. The only time you should use your PIN is at a cash machine or when you use a shop’s Chip and PIN machine.
NEVER hand your bank card or any goods you have purchased as a result of a phone call to anyone who comes to your front door.
If you think you have been the victim of a scam, call the Police.
Do not be embarrassed to report a scam. Scammers are cunning and clever there is no shame in being deceived. By reporting you will make it more difficult for them to deceive others.
Do not give strangers your bank details

URGENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED FOR THREE CATS
Our friend is moving in a week and a half due to a marriage breakdown and whilst she looks for a new home, her three little ones will be homeless.
We have absolutely no space.
The cats have grown up together and are very loved and just need foster space whilst she makes arrangements.
The cats all love cuddles and having some playtime with their human, but also enjoy being left to their own devices, mainly so they can sleep and play amongst themselves.
