It was great to have such a good turnout for the meeting.
Thanks to those who attended our meeting tonight to engage on the issue of Urgent Care in Croydon. And particular thanks to those who pre-registered, as this saves the committee time on the night and helps us to cater for numbers.
Many thanks to the Croydon CCG team for attending an evening meeting and for agreeing to keep the presentation brief in order to ensure the focus was very much on listening to people’s views and answering questions in an open forum.
We know that everyone also appreciated the attendance of Cllrs. Jane Avis, Margaret Bird and Yvette Hopley, who listened to the views expressed by Croydon residents before and during the meeting and who also stayed on to engage in further informal discussions afterwards.
And many thanks too, to those who helped register people as they arrived, to set up and to clear away. Your help was very much appreciated.
The Powerpoint presentation shown has been uploaded and can be viewed and downloaded by clicking here.
You have until 17 January to respond!
Notes of meeting
The draft notes will be circulated to the members of the CCG and then to those attending, for comment, before they are finalised to reflect any comments made. When agreed, they will be posted on the website.
The Croydon CCG are producing their own records of the engagement exercises they have undertaken and this will be posted on their website.

Some of the team work part-time so please appreciate that a response may not always be forthcoming straight away.
You can also ask to be added to the CCG’s lists so you are notified about the CCG’s future meetings, consultations on healthcare and other events, and we recommend that you do. Your details will not be shared.
CCC normally provide a series of notices at meetings but there were only two notices given relating to this week provided, as follows:
Please recycle your Christmas Tree
Recycling, refuse and flytipping are regular issues raised at meetings.
A local resident is offering a collection service for a small fee, under the name of Croydon Treecycle, for those who cannot get their Christmas tree to one of the council’s collection points.
Croydon Treecycle is not a regular business but an offer made by a resident who has helped out neighbours previously and wants to extend that offer to help other people out, to reduce flytipping or binning of trees and who will recycle the trees he collects. Copies of his service, printed on recycled card, were made available, along with other local information. This is not a regular business. It is likely that the service will only just cover the costs of van hire, freephone number and website.
If this is of interest, find more information, here. The ‘service’ will only run until the end of next week, ideally on your usual refuse day to keep costs and emissions down, but other days can be arranged, if required, for an additional fee.
If you would prefer to use the free service offered by the council, find details of collection points and refuse centre, here.
Whatever you choose PLEASE dispose of your tree responsibly!
Further meeting on Urgent Care
Notice of a meeting being hosted by Chris Philp, MP for Croydon South, at Christ Church in Purley on 7 January, was mentioned. The details are advertised on the CCG website for those interested in attending.
Items left after the meeting
Did you leave a bag behind? If so, we have your shopping! Please get in touch to identify the unwrapped item in the shopping bag so we can return the bag to you.
We are currently planning our next meeting which will be with no set agenda. The topics discussed will be guided by those who attend.
Anyone can raise a topic for discussion, promote a local event or group, give a notice, discuss and issue or ask a question of others. All we ask is that people respect that CCC and our meetings are apolitical.
We’ll advertise details when they are confirmed and hope you will be able to attend.
