Fireworks – know the law and stay safe

A useful reminder from a local policing team in Croydon.

Remember the law on using fireworks:
It is an offence for any person to buy and use adult fireworks under 18 years of age.

It is an offence for anyone to use fireworks between the hours of 11pm and 7am, except for permitted fireworks nights.

Anyone using fireworks to harass, intimidate or cause damage is committing a criminal offence which can be punished by a £80 fixed penalty notice or a £5,000 fine.

You should only buy fireworks from registered sellers.

And, stay safe.

It is always better to go to a special event held in your area as it is safer.
