Update from previous meetings:

Community issues
Cllr Matthew Kyeremeh attended the June meeting and had undertaken to come back on a number of points, and this offer was well received by the meeting. Despite CCC thanking Cllr Kymermeh for this and chasing, there has been no update provided to date.

Skanska
Concerns about the lighting works is a regular topic at CCC meetings. Cllr Sean Fitzsimons has advised that Scrutiny committee will not look at the street lighting work being carried out by Skanska again until the new year.

Croydon Trading Standards Bulletins
Copies of bulletin 2 were made available on the night. Details of the latest bulletin can be found on CCC website and information relating to avoiding being scammed was made available on the night.

Updated list of organisations
CCC are building up a current list of Residents’ Associations and groups, as well as a list of conservation and park groups as the council does not hold a current list of either of these. All were asked to help build the lists with current details.

Health matters
CCC is also building a list of Patient Participation Groups (PPGs).

The Moorings Practice in Kenley had a PPG and there are plans in place to get the PPG up and running again. Anyone interested can email TheMooringsPPG@gmail.com.

Booking as soon as possible is needed to allow the PPG to cater for numbers.

The AGM of Healthwatch is on 8 October. Healthwatch act as the voice of patients.

Events in Croydon

It is Black History Month in October and there are a variety of events on offer in Croydon. The theme is Women in Leadership. The launch is on 6 October. The BME Forum are keen to encourage students to attend.

The interim report of Croydon’s Opportunity and Fairness Commission is due out slightly later than expected, in early October. They are currently seeking the views of 11-24 year olds, using a quick survey.

Leaflets for the Christmas Tree Festival at All Saint’s, Kenley on 11 to 13 December were made available. Local businesses, organisations and schools will each decorate a tree as part of the event.

Local Policing update
The committee advised that the local police had been invited to attend but they had not responded or sent a report. The latest Kenley SNT newsletter is on the CCC website and hard copies were made available to take away.

Residents were encouraged to sign up to these monthly ward updates, sent out via email, by emailing a request to the local Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT).

The SmartWater offer via Croydon Neighbourhood Watch was explained, and how this differed to the Met Trace scheme being rolled out.
