Views sought on a Public Space Protection Order for Croydon town centre – Get involved!

Croydon Safer Partnership (CSP) are currently developing a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO). A PSPO gives police and the local authority new powers to tackle certain ASB (anti-social behaviour) in designated areas under the new  Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Behaviour Act (2014.

Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) are intended to deal with a particular nuisance or problem in a particular area that is detrimental to the local community’s qualify of life, by imposing conditions on the use of that area which apply to everyone.

The first PSPO planned will be in Croydon town centre. The Council is conducting an engagement exercise to establish what behaviours people think are an issue (if at all) in Croydon town centre, before they go out to consult.

Individuals and organisations are encouraged to complete the online engagement questionnaire, which closes on 19 August.

You can complete the questionnaire here: www.croydon.gov.uk/pspo

Help Croydon Police keep car crime down – Lock your vehicle and protect your belongings!

Officers from a Local Policing Team in Croydon carried out crime prevention checks in several roads as a number of vehicles have had items stolen from them.

The team were shocked to find that six vehicles were left unlocked.  One of these vehicles had a SatNav on display in the windscreen and two of them were work vans both containing tools.

The Team advises residents that these are easy pickings for thieves.

Please, please please lock your cars and take your valuables inside.

There’s further advice on the Metropolitan Police website, including,

Croydon CCG consult on vision, values and commissioning intentions – Have your say!

CCG header

Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) holds events ad consultations for the public to get involved in the work of NHS Croydon CCG by discussing specific issues, providing feedback on existing services and helping to develop new services.

Croydon (CCG) are currently engaging on their vision, values and priorities for commissioning intentions and this includes you, the public, as well as others such as GPs, clinicians and partners.

They are undertaking this exercise to

· Test their vision,
· Help develop their values, and
· Identify issues for their commissioning intentions for 2016/17

A survey was launched on Monday, 20 July to gather your feedback.

Croydon CCG writes,

Vision and Values
We developed our vision and strategy when we were established in 2013. The vision and strategy is set out in our three year Integrated Strategic Plan 2013 – 2016 which is due to be refreshed by April 2016.

We want to test whether our vision and strategy is still sound. We are also undertaking an organisational development programme which includes the development of the values and behaviours we want our staff and representatives of the CCG to model.

Commissioning Intentions for 2016/17
In addition to the strategic planning process we need to develop our plans for 2016/17. Whilst this may seem early, we are required to give our service providers six months’ notice of any significant contractual service changes. To make contractual changes from 1 April 2016, we need to send our commissioning intentions by the end of September.

Your feedback is important to help inform our plans.

We would be grateful if you would take a few minutes to complete an online survey – which went live on Monday, 20 July.

A link to the survey is available here and we’d appreciate your feedback by Monday, 10 August.

We recognise that each stakeholder will have a different perspective about the CCG’s priorities and so a meeting with representatives from a range of stakeholders will review the feedback received and develop some key messages for the Governing Body and Clinical Leaders during September.
