CCC Public Meeting – Norbury – Wed 11 June 2014

Please join us for our public meeting.

This meeting has no set agenda. The topics discussed will be led by those attending. This is your chance to hear the views of others and to have your say and to share information.

Anyone with an interest in Croydon is welcome to attend any of our public meetings.

Come along with information, notices or updates you’d like to share, topics you’d like discussed, or just come along to listen and have the opportunity to contribute to the discussion.

Doors open at 7pm, when tea and coffee will be available and you’ll have the chance to meet others attending.

The meeting will start at 7.30pm and finish around 8.45pm to allow us to vacate by 9pm.

Those who have not pre-booked will be asked to register on the door and those who have pre-booking will be given preference if numbers exceed capacity.

Massive increase in incidents of fly-tipping in all Croydon wards

The Croydon Advertiser has obtained figures, under an FoI request, of the incidences of fly-tipping, comparing the periods 2009/10 with 2013 to date.

All wards show a percentage increase, from a comparatively modest 80% increase in Coulsdon West to a massive 970% increase in Fairfield.

These figures confirm the concerns expressed by attendees at our meeting on Rubbish, where great concern was expressed about issues with fly-tipping, refuse collection, recycling and trade waste.

CCC – An update

New email address for CCC


Due to ongoing issues with the yahoo account CCC have altered the email address to CroydonNeighbourhoods@gmail.com Everyone in our address book has been advised of this change.

As it was agreed at the AGM that we would look to change the name of the organisation this may mean a further change after the AGM in November but yahoo email was so glitchy we were unable to hold off changing.

Our Public Meetings
In line with conditions of our current funding our meetings have been halted but will kick off again after the elections. Details will be available soon.

Hustings
Details of various hustings that are being organised and chaired by residents –  covering many areas of Croydon ( Coulsdon West and East, South Norwood, Thornton Heath, Broad Green) –  and  the Residents’ Associations in Norbury, covering Norbury, will be on our website shortly and promoted via social media. If you know of others please let us know so we can advertise them also.

The first hustings involves London MEP candidates.
It will be held in Coulsdon this Thursday, 8 May, at 7.30pm at the Coulsdon Community Centre, Barrie Close, CR5 3EB. Barrie close is off Chipstead Valley Road, just north of the Murco petrol station, on the opposite side of the road to Murco. There is a car park at this venue as well as on road parking.
This meeting is being organised and funded by a Croydon resident.
It is open to everyone so please help spread the word so that anyone in Croydon with an interest can attend!
